  • Connelley Vocational High School, known today as the Connelley Technical Institute and Adult Education Center, was named in honor of former Pittsburgh Public School Board member, Clifford B. Connelley. The school, designed by architect Edward B. Lee, opened in 1930 on Bedford Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Hill District neighborhood. In 2003 the school offered GED testing, Vocational Technical and Computer Career Training, Adult Basic Education Programs, the Associated Master Plumbers of Allegheny County Program, English as a Second Language, and the High School Diploma for Adults Program.
