Description
Greenway Middle School, designed by architects Fullerton and Lagarthe, was built on this site in 1974. The school, located at 1400 Crucible Street in Pittsburgh’s Crafton Heights neighborhood, serves the communities of Broadhead, Chartiers, Crafton Heights, Elliot, Esplen, Fairywood, Sheraden, West End, Westgate, and Westwood. In 1974 the total enrollment at the school was approximately 1,438 pupils. In 2003, the enrollment at the school dropped to about 565 students.
