This collection contains two folders of music manuscripts by Vladmimir Bakaleinikoff and his autobiography in Cyrillic Russian.
Vladimir Bakaleinikoff (1885-1953) was a Pittsburgh Orchestral Conductor and a Pittsburgh Composer. Born and educated in Moscow, Bakaleinikoff came to the USA in 1925. He served as associate conductor and violist under Fritz Reiner with the Cincinnati Symphony. After spending a couple of years in Hollywood, he moved to Pittsburgh in 1939 to work again with Reiner and the Pittsburgh Symphony. His brothers, Mischa and Constantin, remained in Hollywood.
