Description
View of Forbes Avenue, looking north east towards the intersection with McKee Place. In view in the distance is the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning (construction began in 1926, finished in 1934). Partially visible is one of the Litchfield Towers student dormitories of the University of Pittsburgh. Originally called the Tower Residence Halls, in 1971 the towers were renamed after the University's twelfth Chancellor (from 1956-1965) Edward H. Litchfield, who died in an airplane crash in 1968.
