Description
Unidentified mothers and their children posed in front of the Heinz Milk Station located in the Sarah Heinz Settlement House at the corner of Heinz Street and East Ohio Street. The station, one of 21 temporary and permanent stations operated by the Health Department, had doctors and nurses on staff who provided milk as well as care and feeding instruction for infants and children.
