Description
A montage of black and white footage shows various scenes of the park interspersed with commentary slides, a characteristic of the silent film era in which it was made. The footage begins with multiple perspectives of acrobats, horses, and a band performing on the Lagoon stage then cuts to a pan of Kiddieland with the Whip in the foreground. Close-ups of the Whip, Coney Cars, and Brownie coaster follow. Also included are views of the pony track, Tumble Bug, dancers in the dance hall, and the Tilt-A-Whirl. The Caterpillar is shown as it's canvas cover is raised over riders. Special focus is given to the Old Mill and includes scenes of riders entering and exiting boats. The Carousel, or Merry-Go-Round, is presented as a thrill for young and old. Views of rides are followed by a pan from inside the park's restaurant when it was still an open-air building and shots of people participating in activities at the athletic field. Also included is a rider’s perspective of the Jack Rabbit and features a sign stating "Warning Don't Stand Up" at the top of an incline. This footage shows the first Miniature Railway, which debuted in 1925 and was made by the Dayton Funhouse and Ride Manufacturing Company. A slow pan of the swimming pool cuts to a scene of a crowded diving board, which is followed by a group of swimmers posing for the camera. The footage concludes with a slide indicating "The End" after a pan of the parking lot and shots of the Chair-O-Plane, Laff-In-The-Dark, and Auto Ride.
