Description
John B. discusses working in scrap carrying, a very laborious job in the mill, and what that entailed. Entering the Army for a period in 1918-1919, then returning to the Pittsburgh area; working briefly in a steel mill in Aliquippa, then returning to Homestead. Reflections on why he chose to settle in Homestead after his life of traveling around. Race relations in Homestead being fairly neutral, but being treated poorly by the mills.
