Description
Woodvale Borough was the Cambria Iron Company's model town before the Johnstown Flood. The town possessed 255 frame houses, a wool mill, a brick works owned by the Cambria company, and other manufacturing plants. Woodvale had the highest per capita loss of life of any of the Johnstown boroughs. Only the ruined woolen mill and a pedestrian bridge over the Pennsylvania Railroad line remained.
