An image of Charles Dryden sitting in a new ambulance purchased for Shadyside Hospital. Dr. Marcus, an intern, stands next to the ambulance. Shadyside Hospital changed its name from the Homeopathic Medical and Surgical Hospital of Pittsburgh to its current name in 1938.
