  • An Open House at Kaufmann's Department Store celebrated the store's grand reopening after expansions to the store and service departments were completed in 1955. The celebration was attended by approximately 1200 guests. Kaufmann's models wore 1871 fashions to honor the store's founding year. Pictured are Morton J. May, May Company chairman; David Scholl, William Taylor Company president; an unidentified Kaufmann's model; Samuel Rosenberg, May Company general manager; Irwin D. Wolf; and David Geller, May Company controller.
