Description
An image of Gulf's Research Laboratory. Caption: "In this room may be seen a Pease vertical blue-print machine, a washer and an electric drier. The Mimeograph and the Keuffel & Esser Neupos printers are not shown. Here are mimeographed the various reports sent from this Laboratory and here the blue-prints, blue-line-prints, Neupos prints and Ozalid prints, which accompany the reports, are made. Because of the strong ammonia fumes necessary to develop the Ozalid prints, the final work on these is done in the fume-hood in one of the Chemistry laboratories. The floor in this room and in all other parts of the building (expect for the lavatories which are terrazzo) is made of concrete and covered with copper treated cement which provides a very hard and acid-resisting surface."
