Description
Employee of Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company observing Multiplate bullet-proof glass in an autoclave. Multiplate glass is produced by fusing two plates between a plastic interlayer. This "glass sandwich" is fused by the autoclave, which functions like a pressure cooker. In the autoclave, the glass is placed in a vacuum bag and then immersed in oil under pressure.
