  • Every year for many years, John Gilfillan received a dozen daffodil bulbs as a birthday present from his sister, Margaret. According to the family story, he would go out to this field next to the Gilfillan farm house and throw all the bulbs into the air. Wherever the bulbs landed, he planted them. To this day, this field on the Gilfillan farm is full of hundreds of daffodils every spring.
