  • Monroeville’s history with aviation began in the 1920s when Johnston Airfield, one of eventually three airports in Monroeville, was first established. The Johnston's continued to be involved in flying and the picture shows George Johnston, a member of the Civil Air Patrol, with his Piper Cub at the airport.
