  • The Pennsylvania Railroad’s station at Pitcairn was originally named “Walurba,” station after the current name of the village at that time. But in 1897 the railroad changed the name of the station at the request of the Pitcairn Borough Council, even though the depot was actually located outside the Borough’s limits. All train schedules had to be changed to reflect the new name.
