Description
During the 1850s, trains began bringing workers from Patton Township to the industrial plants of the Turtle Creek Valley. Residents of Monroeville might board the train at the station on Saunders Road, or in Murrysville where the line ran to Stewart Station. From there, one could take the train to Pitcairn and East Pittsburgh, or beyond, to downtown Pittsburgh.
