Description
This brick house was the home of the Hohmann family, who began farming after arriving in the area from Germany the early1900s. Soon they were selling produce to their neighbors, and in the 1940s Joseph Hohmann began selling home-grown fruits and vegetables from a roadside stand. Hohmann’s Roadside Stand at Young’s Corner eventually grew into a small store, and later became the Red and White Market on James Street - a family-owned business for many years.
