  • The Aber family originally came from Germany, and in 1785 Matthew moved to what was to become Monroeville, where he met and married his wife Elizabeth. The couple was to have seven children, many of whom stayed on the family farm in the eastern part of Monroeville. The Aber's have contributed to building the community over the years. Reflecting that heritage, both Aber's Creek and Aber's Creek Road are named after them.
