  • View of Johnstown from the top of the First National Bank at the corner of Franklin and Main Streets looking northwest toward the Johnstown Inclined Plane. The incline was built after the 1889 flood to connect Johnstown to the borough of Westmont. It was designed by Samuel Diescher, who also designed Pittsburgh's Duquesne and Monongahela Inclines. It is the steepest vehicular incline in the world.
