Description
Twelve people surround a birthday cake at the Crawford Grill. The party is for Charlene, who is cutting the cake. The person at the far left is Boots Parker, a singer at the Crawford Grill. The woman at the right in the hat decorated with pheasant feathers is Marion, who worked for the Courier. Charlene is wearing a long formal dress with lace gloves. Clothing styles suggest a date in the 1930s. Therefore, it is likely that the party is set in Crawford Grill No. 1 at 1401 Wylie Avenue, opened in 1931.
