Description
A large rally for Dwight D. Eisenhower on Centre Avenue in the Hill District. Sparkle Super Market, Home Drug Company, and a cut rate men's wear store can be seen in the background. A neon sign reading Atlantic" is visible in the foreground. Mounted police and members of the press stand in the open street. Large crowds on both sides of Centre Avenue include one group holding up a large, homemade "We Like Ike" sign for a photographer. Eisenhower ran for president in 1952 and 1956, but it is not clear that this rally was connected with a campaign."
