Respondent describes home life, attended "Cheder" (religious school), Yiddish spoken at home, describes work in parents grocery store. Respondent disqualified for World War I because of severe case of flu, took one year to recover. Armistice declared as Respondent was recovering. Respondent mentions joining Coast Guard reserves during World War II, honorably discharged. Respondent discusses longevity, flu and several surgical procedures; expresses concern about young people; parents too lenient, feels they will lose respect.
