Scope and Content Notes
Thomas Pownall was a British colonial politician and author. In 1776 he wrote a one volume work called A Topographical Description of the Dominions of the United States of America. Some time later, he began revising the work for a new edition. This record contains margin notes and manuscript pages intended for a later edition of the work never completed by the author. The pages of the volume are in numerical order, with the manuscript pages placed where Pownall wished them to be in the later edition. The manuscript pages are loose and consist of additions Pownall wished to make to the text. The margin notes contain revisions to the text.
