Description
In this photograph, Alumnae Officer staff member Alice Adams welcomes a senior student to the Alumnae Association during the Closing Convocation ceremony held in the College Chapel. At this ceremony, seniors are pinned with purple and white ribbons by a member of the Alumnae Association or by their alumnae mothers, etc. The Alumnae Award is also presented at this ceremony to a senior who has shown "a genuine interest in learning and evidenced outstanding interest in civic and community affairs." The Chatham College Alumnae Association was founded in 1876 to promote the interests of the College, of education in general, and to generate fellowship among graduates.
