Description
Continental Can Company, a New York based corporation, was organized in 1913 by three metal container manufacturers. The company quickly grew and acquired twenty-one metal container companies, as well as packaging companies, polyethylene bottle and plastic container manufacturers, one glass container producing company, and fourteen producers of paper containers. In 1955 Continental Can was the second largest metal container company in the United States, behind American Can Company. The facility pictured was located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.
