Description
A neighborhood scene in Scott Township, Allegheny County. Scott Township, encompassing an area of approximately 4 miles, was once part of Upper Saint Clair. On June 29, 1861, the Court of Quarter Sessions ordered and decreed that the new township of Scott be formed at a point on Chartiers Creek at or near the farm of William Jones. In 2001 Scott Township, part of the Chartiers Valley School District, had a population of about 17,300.
