Description
Fineview, encompassing an estimated 128 acres, is located within Pittsburgh’s North Side neighborhood, about 1.5 miles from Downtown. Because of its location away from the smoky riverside factories, Fineview became a popular place to build homes and cottages. Fineview was previously known by other names including Mount Alverino and Nunnery Hill. The neighborhood earned the later nickname because it became home to a boarding school founded by the Flemish nuns of the Order of Saint Clare in 1828.
