Description
Originally developed and owned by the Buhl Foundation, Chatham Village, located on 45 acres in the Mount Washington section of Pittsburgh, was comprised of 197 townhomes and 19 apartments with private recreational facilities, parks, and woodlands in a private community setting. The community and buildings were designed by Pittsburgh architects Ingham and Boyd and planned by Clarence Stein with Henry Wright, and landscape architects Ralph Griswald and Theodore Kohankie. The development, completed during 1932-1936, was later converted to a cooperative. It attracts middle to upper income families.
