Description
Liberty Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh during the early part of the twentieth century shows numerous horse-drawn vehicles carrying produce and people. The traffic patterns are somewhat disorganized, showing horses moving in any direction and parking at the nearest available spot. This would continue until the advent of street signals and parking tickets. This area at the time was the wholesale produce market center in Pittsburgh until it moved to the Strip District.
