Description
Begun in 1954 and opened in 1956, the building was made possible through a campaign led by Mr. Scaife from 1952 to 1954. The 13-story high, $19 million structure is the core building of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Complex. Today, the building contains Scaife Hall, the School of Medicine, Falk Library, Pitt’s Medical Library, along with classrooms, lecture halls, and labs.
