Description
Josie Carey and her husband, Henry Massucci, opening fan mail for the Children’s Corner program. Fred Rogers is seated in background. Fred Rogers joined WQED (America’s first community-owned television station) as a program director in 1953. In April 1954, he collaborated with Josie Carey on both the scripts and music to produce “The Children’s Corner” program. The show won the 1955 Sylvania Award for the best locally produced children’s program in the United States. Fred Rogers died in February 2003.
