Description
The Frick Art Museum, located at 7227 Reynolds Street in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Pittsburgh, was designed by Thomas C. Pratt & Associates. The exterior of the building is constructed of Alabama limestone in the Italian Renaissance style. Contributing to the elegance of the interior are marbles quarried in Italy and Portugal, African and Burmese teakwood, Honduras Mahogany, velvet and damask wall coverings. Miss Helen Clay Frick, daughter of the late Henry Clay Frick, opened the museum to the public in October of 1970.
