Description
Mesta Machine Company produced rugged, durable, and quiet running gear drives at its West Homestead, Pennsylvania, facility. These drives were especially suited for use in rolling mills or other situations where gears of coarse pitch were required. The gears were manufactured in various sizes that were capable of transmitting any amount of power within a mill. Gear drives that employed double helical teeth (pictured here), also built at Mesta, were shown to be the most economical method for transmitting power from a high-speed driver to various machines in steel, sheet, and plate mills in the United States and throughout the world.
