  • Belle Barsky Rubenstein (1904-2001). Trained as a pianist at the Pittsburgh Musical Institute, taught piano privately at the Irene Kaufmann Settlement Music School. Chairman of the YM-WHA Musical Society (Y Music Society). Rubenstein talks about Donald Steinfirst, Pittsburgh music critic; prominent performers and performances in Pittsburgh; her good friend Marie Maazel, the mother of Lorin Maazel: Lorin Maazel in his youth; Vladimir Bakaleinikoff, a conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in the 1040's and 50's and instructor of Lorin Maazel.
