Description
Intersection of Fifth Avenue and North Craig Street in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood. Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Cathedral, opened in 1906, is pictured on the left. Duquesne Gardens, partially visible directly behind Saint Paul's Cathedral, was billed as the biggest skating rink in the world by the Pittsburg Post when it opened to the public on January 23, 1899. Duquesne Gardens was razed a few years after this photograph was taken.
