View of railroad tracks, the Allegheny River, and steel mills looking toward Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood. The Washington Crossing Bridge, or 40th Street Bridge, is partially visible in the background. Major George Washington nearly drowned when he attempted to cross the river near the location of the bridge in November 1753.
