Description
View of the intersection of Federal Street with East Ohio Street, looking southwest. In view is the Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science Building (built in 1939, it ceased operation in 1991 after the construction of the Carnegie Science Center and was incorporated as part of the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh in 2004) (far right), the former Allegheny Post Office, also known as the Old North Post Office (now the site of the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh since 1983) (right) and the steeple of Saint Peter Church. The second church occupied by a parish founded in 1850, this church was built in 1874 (center), and Diamond Park (left).
