Description
View of the construction of the East Liberty Presbyterian Church (also known as the Cathedral of Hope), looking east at the intersection of South Whitfield Street and Penn Avenue. According to the website for the congregation of the East Liberty Presbyterian Church, it was designed by architect Ralph Adams Cram, with construction beginning in 1931 and completion in 1935. The construction of the church was funded by donation from Richard B. Mellon, the brother of Andrew Mellon.
