  • Frances Carey recounts an incident from her childhood when she and a friend visited a morgue. Carey discusses the founding of Montefiore Hospital, where she recalls women seeking support. She also discusses the types of jobs held by Jewish people in her community, mostly in department stores and dry goods stores. Cary shares her views on intermarriage and Zionism. The interview concludes with details about family burials and ownership of a cemetery plot. Carey mentions the growth of Pittsburgh and memories of pollution as well.
