Description
Martin Duffy describes his youth as an Irish Catholic in Homestead, including his recollection of the town's ethnic composition and the jobs he held throughout his life. He describes recreational activities in Homestead and recalls an attempt to establish a company store. Frank Leach joins the interview, and together they discuss the local habit of picnicking as recreation, the town's political transition from heavily Republican to heavily Democrat during the Great Depression, and hiring discrimination against Catholics.
