  • Description
  • Fritz Ottenheimer, born in 1930, was forced to leave Germany due to the Nazi regime. His family borrowed money from the sale of his uncle's house to fund their journey to the United States in 1939. He faced anti-Semitic propaganda and harassment in Germany, and upon arrival in the U.S., he initially struggled with language barriers. Ottenheimer attended Bronx High School of Science and later graduated in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma A&M College in 1949. He joined Lennox Company in Pittsburgh before transitioning to Westinghouse in 1957.
