Description
A man sits on a fence with a broad view of flood destruction in Johnstown Borough in 1889. The most prominent building in the lower middle of the image if the Adams Street School (used as a temporary morgue after the Johnstown Flood). The river on the left (the Stonycreek) still contains rubble, and the ground next to it, center of shot also has debris of the buildings that stood there before the flood.
