  • Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Matty Alou poses with baseball players of the Manatee County, Florida Little League All Star Team, in the home dugout of Three Rivers Stadium. That day the Pittsburgh Pirates played a doubleheader against the San Diego Padres at Three Rivers Stadium. The Pirates won both games that day against the Padres: 2-1, then 10-1. The 1970 season was the first played in Three Rivers Stadium by the Pirates, replacing Forbes Field, the first game being on July 16, 1970.
