Description
McCrory's Store Pennsylvania Week window display featuring D. L. Clark Company, Clark Bars, and Honest Square Bars. Pennsylvania Week was an initiative undertaken by the state of Pennsylvania’s Department of Commerce to appreciate and promote the development of Pennsylvania’s natural, industrial, and economic resources. In order to further this goal, Pennsylvania Week participants celebrated Pennsylvania-based products and businesses, including D. L. Clark Company. First instituted in 1947 under the tenure of Governor James H. Duff, Pennsylvania Week set out to engage individual citizens, organizations and businesses in the work of attracting more residents, stimulating tourism, and bolstering industry. In its inaugural year, the campaign’s slogan was “It’s your Pennsylvania… keep it growing!” The annual celebration took place every October through 1954.
