Description
"USS Clark" promotional display of Clark Bars, Zagnut Bars, and Light Clark Bars at Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (known as A&P) grocery store. This display may be an homage to the naval vessel USS Clark. Commissioned in 1980, the USS Clark was a guided-missile frigate named in honor of Joseph "Jacko" Clark, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. The frigate's commanding officer requested a Clark Bar flag from the D. L. Clark Company for use as the vessel's "house flag." The company provided a six-foot Clark Bar flag along with Clark hats and Clark Bars to all guests who attended the frigate's commissioning ceremony.
