Description
A young woman sits in a rowboat, which is braced against the shoreline of Lake Conemaugh. The lake was originally constructed with the South Fork Dam as a reservoir for the Pennsylvania Canal. The reservoir and dam were both abandoned when the canal system was replaced by the Pennsylvania Railroad. Later, the abandoned reservoir and dam were purchased by the South Fork Fishing and Hunting Club (Pa.) to create "Lake Conemaugh," which was used by the club for recreation
