  • Andrew Elliott first came to Western Pennsylvania about 1830; he bought a farm from the McClelland family on what would become the northern side of Route 22. One of Andrew’s sons, Oliver, a Civil War veteran continued to work the family farm, and it was he who built the farmhouse (“Willow Springs”) on the property, most recently owned by the Wilcox family. The house still stands today (2007) as a fine example of a 19th c. farmhouse.
