  • Henry and Rebecca Duff were to have five children, including Joel Duff (seen here) and John, who fought with the Union Army in the Civil war, and died in the service of his country in 1864, at age 18. The Duff family continued to work the farm for many years, gradually selling off land located near the core of what would become Monroeville; by the 1920s, gas stations, greenhouses, and roadhouses had sprouted up along the road near the Duff farm.
