Description
The Beatty family immigrated to the American colonies in the early 1700s. William Beatty fought in both the French and Indian War, and the Revolutionary War and was given land grants for his military service. One such grant was in Patton Township, but he never settled there. However in 1812, his son, Robert, did settle in the area with his wife, Rebecca Coulter Beatty. The couple went on to have 14 children, one of whom was Samuel King Beatty a prominent farmer in Patton Township.
