Progress Photograph Number 8, for the William Penn Hotel. The hotel was designed by Janssen and Abbot and the construction engineer was James L. Stuart. The excavation and the foundation of the William Penn Hotel is pictured. The Allegheny County Courthouse is visible in the background on Grant Street. Also, the Hotel Drumm is seen in front of the courthouse.
